Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs

Work Schedule- Hours: 35 hours weekly, Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., allowing one hour for lunch.

Location: Administrative Office - Lenexa Kansas

Primary Duties:

Support Nazarene Bible College’s purpose “to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world.” 

Facilitate the Office of Academic Affairs’ effectiveness in the following areas:

  • ·      Bookstore service liaison
  • ·      Course offerings and teaching assignments
  • ·      College graduation events
  • ·      Departmental budget tracking
  • ·      Faculty support as directed
  • ·      Grant writing projects
  • ·      Learning management system support as directed
  • ·      Reports, records, and supportive correspondence

Qualificiations:

Registrar

Nazarene Theological Seminary, located in south Kansas City, is in need of a full-time registrar. The Registrar provides management of registration processes and ensures institutional educational compliance and maintenance of student records. The Registrar will work collaboratively with others to continually improve student and enrollment services. 

Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Registration

  • Oversee student registration processes for 250+ students
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid and Accounts Payable for effective use/distribution of scholarships and accurate student billing
  • Manage course scheduling and sequencing. Maintain program audit sheets
  • Assist students with academic progress and program forms, petitions, and processes
  • Update and maintain NTS Academic Catalog and Student Handbook
  • Manage textbook and grade submissions

Data, Records, and Compliance

  • Provide ongoing enrollment reports and generate additional reports and institutional data as needed (e.g., ATS and IBOE annual reports)
  • Ensure maintenance and accessibility of student records, including transcript requests
  • Take led role in IPEDS reporting and educational compliance such as NC-SARA and state educational applications

Supervising

  • Supervise Assistant to the Registrar
  • Supervise Front Desk/Enrollment Assistant

Other

  • Coordinate with Director of Academic Programs, Associate Director of the Doctor of Ministry, and Enrollment Counselor to ensure effective and efficient enrollment processes and enhance student experience
  • Support student success and retention; monitor at-risk students, and coordinate accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Function as Title IX Deputy Coordinator, FERPA Coordinator, and primary designated school official for SEVIS and International student processes
  • Provide enrollment reports to the Faculty and Management Team
  • Other duties or projects, as assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of Enrollment and/or Registrar experience required
  • Experience with higher education enrollment operations, including registrar, admissions, and institutional data systems
  • Experience with educational software systems (Learning Management Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning software)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Mathematical skills for financial and remuneration calculations and reports
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Enrollment and/or Registrar experience required
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Experience with seminaries

 

This is a full-time, exempt position. Average weekly schedule will be 36 hours, Monday-Thursday (office is closed on Fridays). Compensation is based on education, expertise and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurances, 401k matching, paid time off, and holiday pay.

Part time Grassroots Associate

Part time Grassroots Associate

AFP Missouri 

Overview:

The Grassroots Associate position is a part-time temporary position who may work up to 20 hours per week.  This position will report to a Field Director who will provide the Grassroots Associate with direction and guidance.  Expected activities will include, but are not limited to, canvassing designated geographical areas, building relationships with prospective community activists and leaders, and engaging the citizenry regarding the merits of a free society.  This position is subject to pre-employment background check as a condition of employment.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Collect relevant data gathered from phone calls and in-person conversations and enter such data into the appropriate designated databases. (75% of time.)
  • Work with volunteers to execute AFPF and AFP phone banks.
  • Develop relationships with members of the community and recruit volunteers and policy partners for the Field Director to work with.
  • Assist Field Directors with local events as required.
  • Help with logistics relating to canvassing literature and materials.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding program activities, including input and observations gleaned from members of the public as well as the effectiveness of the provided equipment and tools to accomplish directed tasks.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to walk 2-4 miles per day and climb a single flight of stairs, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Ability to work a non-traditional work day, including evenings and weekends.
